Jammu:Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three individuals, including an advocate, from Bishnah area in connection with the armed robbery at Anand Jewellers in the Greater Kailash area.
As per reports, the advocate is believed to be the mastermind of the heist and is also associated with a political party.
Pertinently, the robbery took place in February when armed men stormed the jewellery store and looted 1.5 kg of gold and Rs 35,000 cash by taking the woman owner of the store hostage using a sharp weapon.
Her son, Sanam Anand, was away at a bank when the criminals struck. The incident triggered protests in the area over security concerns.
Following a detailed investigation, police tracked down and apprehended the suspects from Bishnah area.
Authorities are continuing their probe, and further arrests are expected as the case unfolds.
