Srinagar: The death two Jammu and Kashmir youth have sparked condemnation, with concerns raised over alleged human rights violations. Makhan Din, a Gujjar tribal youth from Kathua, reportedly died by suicide after alleged custodial torture, while Wasim Malla, a truck driver from Sopore, was shot dead.
Reacting to the incidents, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, “The unfortunate saga of extrajudicial killings and rights violations of people of J&K continues as the perpetrators are never brought to book. This cycle will never cease until accountability is established and justice delivered.”
The deaths come amid reports of large-scale arrests across the valley. Concerns have been raised over the treatment of detainees, with calls for authorities to prevent such incidents and ensure justice for the victims. Appeals have also been made for the release of those detained in the recent crackdown.
Authoritiesd have already launched investigations into the two incidents that were reported from two different places in jammu and Kashmir.
