jammu:Department of Commerce, Padma Shri Padma Sachdeva, Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in collaboration with HRM, Department, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Jammu, successfully organized an enlightening lecture on awareness campaign focused on career opportunities and fostering a supportive environment for women. The event aimed to empower women by highlighting career prospects in the financial sector and addressing challenges in the digital age. The programme was initiated with the formal welcome address presented by Miss. Urvashi, student of B.com Sem-1st, where she briefed the students about the resource person and the importance of continuously organising such special lectures. The eminent resource persons of the programme are Sh. Navjot Singh, Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development Department, RBI and Mrs. Jeenat Chugh, Assistant Manager, Human Resource Management Department, RBI. Mrs. Jeenat Chugh provided invaluable insights into the various career opportunities available within the Reserve Bank of India. They emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for women to thrive in the professional sphere.
Sh. Navjot Singh, addressed a critical contemporary issue i.e. cybersecurity in the digital world. The speakers discussed prevalent cybercrimes and shared practical tips to stay vigilant and safe while using digital platforms. They highlighted RBI’s initiatives to protect consumers and promote secure financial transactions. The session concluded with an engaging quiz competition, where students enthusiastically participated, demonstrating their understanding of the topics covered during the lecture. Winners were awarded prizes, adding a sense of achievement and excitement to the event. Principal, Prof/Dr. S. P. Saraswat applauded the efforts of commerce department for organizing such meaningful programme. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Miss. Ridhi Slathia, student of B.com Sem-1st. The lecture was attended by 70 students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Asha Devi, HOD, Commerce along with other faculty members namely Dr. Himani Arora, Dr. Ramandeep Kour, and Prof. Mamta Devi.
