SHOPIAN:In continuation its unwavering efforts to eradicate the Menace of Drugs from the society, District Police Shopian under the supervision of SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree-IPS arrested one more Drug Peddler in the evening of 22-04-2024 and recovered Charas like substance weighing about 7Kg 584grams from his possession. Police Post Wachi received information through reliable sources that one person namely Farooq Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Abdullah Dar R/O Darbagh Wachi has concealed Charas like contraband substance in his residential house. Upon search of his residential house and cowshed three nylon polythene bags was recovered in which Charas like substance weighing about 7Kg 584 grams was found. In this regard a Case FIR No. 32/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Zainapora and investigation was taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in Drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against Drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of Drug menace.
