Jammu:Two IAS officers from Jammu and Kashmir, Abid Hussain Sadiq and Zaffar Iqbal, have been given important postings in Himachal Pradesh following a recent administrative reshuffle.
As per an order issued by the Himachal Pradesh Government, Abid Hussain Sadiq, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (HPPCL).
Prior to this, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur, Special Secretary (Forests), Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur, and Director of Urban Development, besides holding the charge of CEO, Shimla Smart City.
His efficient handling of administrative responsibilities has earned him wide recognition, including the prestigious ‘Best Electoral Practices Award’ from President Droupadi Murmu earlier this year for his exemplary work during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Similarly, Zaffar Iqbal, a 2017-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank, Dharamshala.
