Sopore: In a significant crackdown on illegal mining, the Sopore Police, in collaboration with the Geology and Mining Department, seized one JCB machine and six tractors involved in the unlawful extraction of minerals. Six drivers were also arrested in the operation.
A team led by IC PP Fruit Mandi PSI Rashid Khan under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani, carried out the action.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Muzafar Ramzan Sumji S/O Mohammad Ramzan Sumji R/O Doabgah Sopore,
2. Nadeem Mohiudin S/O Ghulam Mohiudin R/O Doabgah Sopore,
3. Parvaiz Ahmad Khan S/O Bashir Ahmad Khan R/O Khamoh Rafiabad,
4. Mohammad Shafi S/O Abdul Rehman R/O Doabgah Sopore,
5. Mudasir Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Dar R/O Doabgah Sopore and
6. Hilal Ahmad Mir S/O Mohammad Abdullah Mir R/O Doabgah Sopore.
Action under law has been taken under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Sopore.
