Sopore: In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO PS Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, at a checkpoint at Adipora Sopore, intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK05H-6710.
During the search of the said vehicle approximately 2 kilograms of contraband Poppy Straw like substance was recovered.
On preliminary verification driver disclosed his identity as Farooq Ahmad Mir S/O Abdul Rashid Mir R/O Adipora Sopore.
In this connection, case FIR No. 76/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
