Srinagar:National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah criticised the Centre and said the report card of the past 10 months, since the revocation of Article 370 in August last year, “doesn’t look impressive”.
In a series of tweets in which the former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir commented on the latest round of continuing Internet restriction, Omar said the people of Jammu and Kashmir were being “punished” for thing beyond their control.
“No big ticket investment, no economic activity, no development activity on the ground, no democracy and here the J&K Government admits to a worsening security environment,” Omar said.
Omar said 10 months since August 5 last year — when the Centre abrogated Article 370 and imposed a lengthy lockdown — “report card doesn’t look impressive”. The former CM, who remained in detention for several months and has refrained from political comments since his release, made the remarks as the administration ordered the continuation of the suspension of high-speed Internet till June 17.
