Srinagar: Worshippers thronged mosques and shrines across Kashmir to observe Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, with the largest congregation held at Dargah Hazratbal where over one Lakh people gathered for prayers.
A sea of people thronged Hazratbal shrine in Dargah Srinagar on the last Friday of Ramadhan, JKNS reported.
The worshippers from different parts of the Valley gathered at Hazratbal, where men, women, and children offered prayers, seeking divine blessings. Other major mosques and shrines also saw massive gatherings, as the faithful marked the sacred day with devotion.
Authorities had made elaborate arrangements at Dargah Hazratbal to facilitate the movement of devotees. The Traffic department ensured smooth vehicular flow and designated parking spaces, while additional buses were deployed to ferry worshippers from different parts of the city.
The devotees expressed their spiritual aspirations, with many praying for peace and prosperity. “This is a special day when prayers are answered. I prayed for peace in the world,” said Abdul Gaffar, a devotee from Budgam. Another elderly worshipper wished for a pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina, saying, “This is my only desire now.”
People hailed the administration for ensuring hassle-free movement, allowing them to focus on their prayers without facing difficulties.
