One-Act Play Competition on ‘Mahatma Gandhi and his principles’ organized at JU

Jammu:
To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu organised a One-Act Play Competition on the theme ‘Mahatma Gandhi and  principles’ today at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium. The event was attended by the faculty members, students and scholars of the University of Jammu. Prof. Keshav Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory programme.

The students from GDC R.S. Pura, GDC Kathua, GDC Ramnagar, Bhaskar Degree College, MIET, Bhartiya College of Education, ICCCR & HRM, Rajiv Gandhi College, Ramishth College of Education, GGM Science College, GDC Bishnah participated in the competition.

Mr. Sanjeev Gupta and Dr. Seema Rohmetra were the adjudicators of the events. The First position was secured by GDC Ramnagar whereas the second and Third positions were awarded to GGM Science College and GDC Kathua respectively.

Prof. Keshav Sharma appreciated the efforts of the office of Dean Students Welfare and expressed his gladness on witnessing highly relevant and creative plays based on the principles of Mahatma Gandhi.  
In her welcome address, Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma, Dean Students Welfare explained in detail about the goal of organizing such an event of high importance which infuses positivity among the youth. She also announced that Display Your Talent 2018 shall commence from Mid-September this year and urged students to start preparation for the same.

Prominent amongst those who were present at the occasion included Prof. S.K. Pandita (Chairman Campus Cultural Committee), Dr. B.K. Bajaj (Associate Dean SW), Dr. Anil Gupta & Dr. Garima Gupta (Assistant Deans SW) & members of Campus Cultural Committee. The event was coordinated by Mr. Sumeet Sharma & Ms. Ifra Kak. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur and the hall management was looked after by Gauri Thakur, Needhi Kumari, Sonia Singh, Mehak Jain and Saloni Verma.
