Kulgam:Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police team of Police Post Jawahar Tunnel established a checkpoint at Puranigam Crossing and during checking one suspicious person carrying a bag was intercepted, who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. However, he was chased and apprehended tactfully. During search, 4.3 Kg of Grinded Cannabis concealed in the said bag was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Itoo son of Abdul Gani Itoo resident of Chowgam.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 07/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.
People are requested to co-operate with Police in eliminating the drug menace from the society.
