Katra:SMVDU Katra, 15 August 2022. With the flag hoisting ceremony followed up by the singing
of the national anthem, Independence Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi
University (SMVDU), Katra. Padam Shri Prof. RK Sinha, the Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the
national flag and addressed a large gathering comprising research students, faculty
members, staff, and security personnel.The children of the faculty members also witnessed
the celebrations. Prof. Sinha emphasized that the university has achieved a niche among
the top-class universities in a nascent period of 17 years, and it is the responsibility of
everyone in the university to make it better daily. Also, he encouraged the faculty members
to conduct productive research and urged them to inculcate the values among students.
