Anantnag :Like other parts of the UT, a full dress rehearsal in run up to the 72nd Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January 2021 was today held at District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Mr. Gh.Hassan Sheikh unfurled the national flag and took salute at the parade. The contingents from CRPF, J&K Police, IRP & F&ES took part in the march-past.
Addressing the gathering, ADC highlighted the importance of constitution for citizens of the country.He said that nation is paying great tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country . He further added that the nation has achieved the highest goals of success in every field by virtue of adopting all the principles laid down in the constitution.
While stressing the importance of Secularism & Fundamental Rights as guaranteed by the constitution, he also urged to abide by all the Fundamental Duties which are very essential for nation building.
On the occasion, cultural programmes with theme songs on patriotism, folk etc were also presented.
Senior officers from Civil & Police administration participated in the function.
Full dress rehearsals were also held at Subdivisions of Pahalgam, Dooru, Bijbehara, Kokernag and also at Tehsil Headquarters of the District.
