Srinagar:
Member, Central Waqf Council and Chairperson, Waqf Development Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, called on Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha at the Civil Secretariat here today.

Dr. Andrabi briefed the Lt Governor about the working of the Waqf Board and drew his attention towards the issues related to protection of Waqf properties.

The Lt Governor advised Dr. Andrabi to take requisite measures for continuous improving the working of the Board and involve all stakeholders for effective implementation of Educational and Women Welfare Schemes for skill development.

He assured her that all the efforts will be made to ensure the removal of illegal encroachments and protection of the Waqf properties in J&K.

Member, Central Waqf Council and Chairperson, Waqf Development Committee, Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, called on Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan here today.
Dr. Andrabi expressed gratitude towards the Lt Governor for announcing, executing, and launching several developmental programmes including new Industrial Development scheme in J&K in the recent past.
Dr. Darakshan Andrabi discussed various issues of public importance including the development of Shrines across J&K with the Lt Governor. She also raised the issue of the alarming situation of the drug menace in Kashmir and how youth has become a victim of this menace.
She urged upon the Lt Governor to take some drastic steps to deal with this social menace and psychological war inflicted on people by the subversive forces.
The Lieutenant Governor assured Dr. Darakshan Andrabi that all her suggestions of public concerns would be looked into on priority and urged her to continue sustained endeavours towards promoting public welfare.
