The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman on Monday flagged-off a group of 30 farmers/orchardists for a training cum exposure tour to Lassipora Pulwama.

The exposure tour was organised by the Department of Horticulture Bandipora under ATMA.

Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora, Farooq Ahmad along with other officers and officials of Horticulture Department were present on the occasion.

The DC on the occasion interacted with farmers and took feedback of various schemes and programmes implemented by the department.

The tour is aimed to enrich knowledge of farmers and enhance agricultural practices besides providing farmers firsthand experience and insights into innovative farming techniques, sustainable practices and modern technologies.

Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora informed that the tour will encompass visits to various units established at Lassipora Pulwama including CA Stores, Grading Lines and other Food Processing Units renowned for their excellence in farming methods.

Participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts and fellow farmers, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing, he added.
