BUDGAM:In a continued crackdown against the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested drug peddler in Beerwah area and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of Police Station Beerwah established a check point headed by SI Ashiq Ahmad at Rankipora, wherein they noticed one suspicious person who on seeing the Police party tried to flee from the spot but he was apprehended tactfully and during his search 03 sticks of Charas like substance wrapped in corn husk was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was arrested on the spot for further course of action as per law and during questioning he revealed his identity as Mohammad Saleem Shah S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Shah R/o Pati Sail Beerwah.
Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 24/2025 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been set into motion.
