Awareness activities cum Kisan Credit Card (KCC) coverage intensified in district Ramban as a part of the ambitious Kisan Pakwada under which  awareness camps are being organized in all eleven blocks of district on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Nazim Zai Khan.   

            Today the programme was held in Block Ramban which was presided over by the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Ramban R.K Hitashi.

 While Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Satvir Raina, Chief Horticulture Officer, V.K Gupta, DSHO, Dr. Vikas Gupta, AD Fishery, Bharat Bhushan, LDM Shakeel Ahmed, Regional SMS, Sanjay Verma, DAO, Dr. Ashwani Sharma, SDAO,  R.C Pandoh, SMS, Bharat Bushan and Ashwani Kumar Jojra besides  AG&MO Horticulture, Sunil Bakshi disseminated information related to various Government schemes of their departments which are meant for the welfare of the farmers.   

Scores of PRIs and farmers from adjoining areas participated in Kisan Pakhwada and all the SOPs norms were followed while carrying out different activities during the programme.

            Speaking on the occasion, CAO said that the Kisan Pakhwada is one of the most unique ways for close interaction between the farmer and the administration. He also said farmers make a key contribution to the development of a nation and thus it becomes important to give respect to their dedicated efforts and to make them feel proud of their hard work.

He said that the aim for observing Kisan Pakwada is to ensure 100% coverage of the farmers under KCC in the district so that they can avail a low-interest loan.

Speakers said that concerted efforts are being made to achieve the goal of doubling the income of the farmers by 2022 and various steps are being taken to provide necessary benefits to the farmers to mitigate their problems besides  ensuring 100 per cent KCC is one of them.

They impressed upon the farmers to be open to adopting new technologies in the field so that production could be boosted with the ultimate aim to usher in a new green revolution in the district.

They also handed over Kisan Credit cards to several progressive farmers of the area to help them secure timely credit at reasonable interest in a hassle-free manner.
