Anantnag :Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Police party from police station Aishmuqam under the supervision of SDPO Pahalgam laid down a naka at Brad Aishmuqam and arrested two drug peddlers namely Farooq Ahmad Lone son in law of Gh Rasool Itoo R/O Paith Nambal A/P Yall and Zafar Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohd Afzal Bhat R/O Khayar along 7.2 Kgs of cannabis husk and 256 grams of of cannabis powder like substance from their possession. Both the accused were arrested and contraband seized.
In this regard case FIR No. 05/2025 under relevant sections of the law stands registered in police station Aishmuqam and investigation set into motion.
Drug dealings in Anantnag District have put our community at the risk of harm and eventual criminalization. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers are aimed to end this menace of drug addiction. It should reassure the community members and encourage them to come forward with any information pertaining to drug peddling in their neighborhood.
