Jammu:
Castigating Bhartiya Janta Party and Election Commission of India for inordinate delay in holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Aam Aadmi Party volunteers held a protest dharna infront of Jammu office of Election Commission of India and demanded earliest assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir for restoration of democracy.

Party volunteers headed by Incharge of Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee of AAP, Harsh Dev Singh assembled infront of Jammu office of Election Commission of India wherein they held a dharna raising slogans demanding immediate assembly elections without any further delay.

They castigated all the concerned setups including Bhartiya Janta Party, Election Commission of India for prolong delay in holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir which is taking toll on overall system of Government and leaving a common man in helpless state.

Talking to media persons, Jammu and Kashmir Incharge of AAP Coordination Committee, Harsh Dev Singh said that elections in Jammu and Kashmir are immediate need of hours for restoration of democracy as people are deprived of democratically elected Government.

He said that BJP is delaying elections for no reason and is just prolonging bureaucratic setup and rule in Jammu and Kashmir which is proxy rule of Bhartiya Janta Party.

Singh asked BJP Government and Election Commission of India to restore democracy and to hold elections without any delay adding that BJP is delaying polls as it is well aware that things are out of its hands and people are ready to teach them a lesson for misgovernance.

He further said that Election Commission of India is working on the fingertips of BJP which is a sad state of affairs.

Similarly, AAP's state spokesperson Gagan Partap Singh in his statement said that BJP is delaying elections in Jammu and Kashmir as it is aware of the fact that it has lost its ground.

" It is due to anti people policies of BJP that it has lost ground in Jammu and Kashmir and for this reason BJP is delaying elections creating hurdle in restoration of democracy." Singh said.

He added that on one hand Union Home Minister expresses his concern towards security scenario for holding elections and then issue a statement that stone pelters are now part of development and both these statements are parallel to each other while both army and police have mentioned normalcy in security scenario which is conducive for holding polls.

AAP leader Yashpal Kundal on the other hand took a dig at BJP and said that BJP itself is depriving people of Jammu and Kashmir from democratic rights as it do not want to see a public elected government in office.

" BJP wants to rule J&K through its proxy bureaucratic setup as it is well aware that people of Jammu and Kashmir will vote against BJP in next elections." Kundal said.

AAP leaders further stated that today's protest is an eye opener for both BJP and ECI with demand for restoration of democracy by holding elections without any further delay.
