KUPWARA:
In a remarkable display of valor and dedication, the Indian Army undertook a daring rescue mission amidst heavy snowfall to save the life of a pregnant woman in critical condition. The incident unfolded in the remote Manabal Laohi Coot area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, where treacherous weather conditions posed a serious threat to the well-being of the expectant mother.

The unfolding drama began when Manzoor Ahmad Badana, the husband of the pregnant woman, made a distress call to the Indian Army at 11:30 AM. Local residents also reached out, urgently requesting the Army's assistance in the immediate rescue and medical evacuation of the woman. The situation was exacerbated by the complete blockage and extreme slipperiness of the Monabal road due to heavy snowfall.

Recognizing the criticality of the situation, the Indian Army's rescue team and medics from Haril Camp promptly responded to the distress call, braving the perilous conditions and risking their own safety to reach the stranded woman. The road, covered in feet of snow and sleet, presented a formidable challenge, but the determination of the rescue team prevailed as they successfully reached the location on time.

The pregnant woman was safely evacuated to SDH Langate, where medical staff and the J&K Police were on standby to receive her. The immediate attention provided by the medical team further contributed to the success of the mission, ensuring the well-being of both the mother and the unborn child.

The family, as well as the medical professionals involved, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army’s 30 RR and the J&K Police for their swift and decisive action. The timely assistance not only saved the lives of the pregnant woman and her baby but also exemplified the unwavering commitment of the armed forces to the safety and well-being of civilians in distress.

This courageous rescue operation serves as a poignant reminder of the selfless service rendered by the Indian Army, particularly in challenging and adverse weather conditions, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding lives and upholding the spirit of duty and humanity.
