Jammu:One week workshop on Time Series Econometrics organized by Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu was inaugurated at Social Science Block, University of Jammu. There were thirty two registered participants including faculty and scholars from various institutions across the country who would be attending this workshop.
Dr. Rajendra N. Paramanik,Asst. Professor,Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Patna and Dr. Sourabh B. Paul, Asst. Professor,Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Delhi would be the resource persons for the one week workshop. Dr. Neetu Kumari, incharge Department of Commerce, Udhampur Campus welcomed the guests and Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Rector, Udhampur Campus felicitated the guest and gave a brief introduction and details about the one week workshop. She also stressed on the need for organizing this workshop and how it can be helpful to the emerging scholars.
Dr. Rajendra Paramanik was the key resource person for the first day technical sessions of the workshop. During the first two sessions he introduced econometrics to the participants and also stressed upon homoscedasticity , auto correlation and multicollinearity. The post lunch sessions were hands on sessions where the participants were made use Strata software for better understanding of the model fit. The sessions were very interactive where the participants got an opportunity to clear their queries.
