Jammu:The Business School, University of Jammu organized a one day Curriculum Development Workshop on Rural Management and Rural Community Engagement in association with National Council of Rural Institutes (NCRI).
The workshop was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu. In his inaugural address, Prof. R.D Sharma stressed upon the importance of education in rural sector. He highlighted that the University of Jammu should come up with new open courses to impart knowledge amongst the students about rural community development and rural issues.
The program was facilitated by Dr. V.P.Sharma, senior academic consultant NCRI. He introduced NCRI- Mahatma Gandhi Grameen Vidhya Abhiyan( MGGVA) and Mahatma Gandhi Grameen Prabandhan Vidhya Abhiyan( MGGPVA) schemes of Govt. of India to the audience. The workshop included an interactive discussion on the theme and also the future plans for Curriculum Development in Rural Management and Engagement were discussed.
Earlier, Prof. Alka Sharma, Director, The Business School welcomed the gathering and concluding remarks were given by Prof. Sameer Gupta, The Business School. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Amisha Gupta, Sr. Assistant Professor, The Business School, University of Jammu. The workshop was attended by faculty members of various departments including Economics, Sociology, NSS, DLL and TBS.
