New Delhi:Shimla Fusion II, the International art exhibition which started at Art Gallery, Tavern Hall, Gaiety Multi Art Complex, Mall Road, Shimla on 7th July concluded today, the 1oth of July. About 102 paintings were displayed at this historic art gallery by 46 artists from 19 states of the country.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the renowned practising visual artist Prof. Him Chatterjee, Head Visual Arts, Department of Language Art and Culture, Himachal Pradesh.
Shoaib Shawl, a young artist, from Jammu brought laurels to the J&K state by bagging the ‘best young artist’ award.
The exhibition was organised by Radart Foundation through its director Mr. Mayank Vyas.
During the course of four-day long exhibition large gatherings of art lovers, tourists and locals thronged the gallery and enjoyed the colours and shades reflecting human pain, Joy, love, suppression, and sensibilities by the strokes of artists’ brushes on canvass.
The work of Shoaib Shawl was highly praised and critically appreciated by all and extensively highlighted by national and local media in Shimla during the exhibition.
Shoaib Shawl, who has passed his class 12th recently, disclosed that he had the flare for painting, photography and cinematography since childhood and wanted to pursue his further education in fine art and film making.
Adjudged as Artist of the Year and Photographer of the Year by his school he was also the Director Photography club, Director “Welham News”, the film and news club of Welham Boys School, Dehradun and has to his credit some acclaimed documentaries made for his school. Having participated in training workshop at Film and Television Institute of India Pune, he has won many awards in painting, photography, documentaries , sports and athletics besides excelling in academics.
