Scholarship of Rs.2.65 lakh for wards of deceased Police personnel granted

Continuing its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the school going wards of deceased Police personnel, the Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarship of Rs. 2.65 lakh vide PHQ Order No. 3755. The scholarship has been granted for the academic session 2018-19 & 2019-20.

Under this order, rupees 5000/- each has been granted as scholarship to fifty three (53) school going wards of those deceased Police personnel who died while in service due to natural/accident deaths. The scholarship has been granted out of Central Police Welfare Fund.

Those awarded scholarship include eight students of Nursery and Primary classes, forty one students of middle and higher secondary classes and four students pursuing graduation.

To boost the morale and support the aspiring wards of deceased Police personnel financially, Police Headquarters has sanctioned over seven lakh as scholarship in favour of one hundred forty nine wards of deceased Police personnel this year so far as welfare measure.
