Srinagar:
The residents of Arampora village in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district blocked Kupwara-Srinagar highway road on Monday to protest the shortage of potable water.

The protesters said the area is without water supply from last several weeks, forcing them to take to roads.

The protesters said they have apprised the concerned Public Health Engineering (PHE) authorities several times but the water supply was not restored.

The traffic movement in the area remained affected due to the protest.

A PHE official said a pipe which supplies water to the area has been blocked and that they were fixing the problem.
