Police arrests three persons , recovered 13 lacs demonetized currency in Srinagar

Srinagar:Police arrested three persons and recovered more than 13 lacs demonetized currency, police said. Official said that the Police Station Nigeen Srinagar during surprise Naka checking at Ashai-bagh last evening apprehended three persons namely and recovered denominated currency of Rs. 1363500 ( Thirteen Lacs, Sixty-three thousands & Five hundred) from them. The accused were identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Sultan, a resident of Batmaloo, Showket Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Mohd of Pampore, and Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Qadir of Panthachowk. Police said that cognizance was taken under the Specified Bank Notes (Cessation of Liabilities) Act, 2017 & further investigation taken up. The accused persons will be presented before the competent Court today for judicial determination.
