Pakistan's 'Malala Yousafzai' filming in Jammu and Kashmir

The whole world admires Pakistani activist for women empowerment for her courage and vigour. Besides inspiring young women around the world, Malala has also influenced a Bollywood filmmaker who has begun working on her biopic 'Gul Makai' in Jammu and Kashmir.

The 20-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner will have a movie inspired by her life and events that shook the world and take note of the violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan at the behest of Taliban. 

According to Hindustan Times, there are about 150 Kashmiri artists shooting for the film in Kashmir valley. 

Reema Shaikh, a television actress, is portraying Malala's character and they have started the shoot on January 3. 

Under the banner of Renaissance Entertainment Private Limited, the movie is produced and directed by Anand Kumar and Amjad Khan respectively. 

In 2012, terrorist group Taliban attempted to assassinate Yousafzai, then 15, was shot by Taliban while she was on a bus after giving her exam. The terrorist group has been after her life for a long time, giving death threats to her on social media for speaking against their organisation and for her blog posts about women liberation and rights.
