Srinagar:
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said an investigation has been launched after they “learnt” a militant wounded in yesterday’s Shopian attack was treated at SKIMS Soura.

In a statement, a spokesman said that the “police authorities have learnt that one Asif Ashraf Malik S/O Ashraf Malik R/O Krawoora Shopian active since 19-10-2017 with outlawed outfit HM has been admitted with a bullet injury at SKIMS Soura where he has been given required medical treatment.”

He said the preliminary investigation suggested that he was injured yesterday at Ahgam in Shopian where militants opened fire on an Army patrol from a car.

“The medical bulletin of the injured is yet to be received. Police is investigating the matter,” he said.
