Kathua Campus, JU organizes Guest Lecture for its students at the Campus

Department of Computer Science & IT, Kathua Campus today organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Disruptive Technologies of the Future’ for the students of the Campus. Mr. Naveen Sharma, working in Rabobank, London, UK was the Resource person. The students of MCA and MBA were the participants during the lecture. 

Mr. Naveen Sharma started with the sub-topic ‘Internet-Disruptive technology of the past’, where he enlightened the students with past Internet age, Dot com boom, Rise and fall of Internet applications, Online banking, Online Shopping, Social Media, Smartphones apps etc. He explained in detail about Bitcoin, IOT, Big Data, AI, Data Encrytion method like SHA256, Ethereum and Decentralized System.

He stressed upon the students that instead of focusing on the theoretical concepts, one should work on practical concepts. He recommended that each student should contribute the campus by developing some apps & websites. Meanwhile, he showed some of the websites designed by him for his city & company. At the end, He completed his lecture by giving some ideas about dApp, Blockchain Disruptive Technology, Ripple, Basic Authentication token etc. 

Professor Naresh Padha, Rector Kathua Campus, in his message, expressed his gratitude towards the resource person to find time from his busy schedule to interact with the students and provide an insight regarding the live working environment in the Sector. He stressed upon that such lectures are of extreme importance for the students to narrow down the gap between the theory and practice.

Earlier Mr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head, MCA while welcoming the Resource Persons, assured that more such lectures shall be undertaken innear future to consolidate the collaboration between Academia and Industry. The faculty members including Mr. Amit Sharma, Mr. Pankaj Khajuria, Mr. Ajay Lakhnotra, Mr. Riti Parkash Singh Katal, Mr. Amardeep Sharma, Ms. Swati Sharma, Ms.Ankita Kangotra and Ms. Anjally Gupta were also present.
