JK Police will provide all possible help to youth in shaping their talents: DGP

Jammu and Kashmir Police is providing opportunities and avenues to the youth to choose sports as their career and show their talent to the world. This was stated by the Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh at the conclusion programme of 10 days skiing course for students/youth of North Kashmir organised by the J&K Police under its Civic Action Proagramme at Gulmarg, Baramulla. DGP who was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS interacted with the student trainees and also presented exgratia relief cheques of about Rs 22 lakh to the parents of martyred SPO Bilal Ahmad, who sacrificed his life during an encounter in Ganie Hamam Baramulla in August last year.

DIG NKR Shri Mohd Suleman Choudhary, SSP Baramulla Shri Abdul Qayoom, SSP Bandipora Shri Rahul Malik, SSP Handwara Shri G V Sundeep Chakaravarthy, SSP Kupwara Shri Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar, AIG Welfare/ Communication (PHQ) Shri Manoj Pandith, Jurisdictional Police Officers, civil administration officers of Gulmarg, student of Police Public School Baramulla besides a huge gathering witnessed the concluding ceremony.

 The DGP said he was happy to witness skiing skills of the participants on the conclusion of the training course. He said that JK Police will provide all possible help to the youth in shaping their sports talent. To earn a name for themselves and for building a healthy society, develop good thinking and habits DGP advised the youth further adding that good thinking leads to good results.

 

The DGP appreciated the role of trainers of J&K Police for taking a keen interest in tapping, channelizing and polishing the sports talent in the participants. He said that another such course exclusively for girls will be organised in future.

The DGP said that personnel of J&K Police are taking part in different sports events in the country as well as outside the country and are bringing laurels to Jammu & Kashmir by winning medals at national and international levels. He said that JK Police personnel have scaled the highest peak on the earth Mount Everest twice, and are also serving as coaches in national teams.

The DGP also said that J&K Police will be holding many more programmes such as Jashn-e-Dal and Jashn-e-Wullar so that the awareness regarding environmental degradation being witnessed by these water bodies, which are world famous for their beauty and characteristics is created among the community members. 

Referring to the martyrdom of SPO Bilal Ahmad, whose parents were invited for the function, the DGP said that SPOs are working shoulder to shoulder in every field and the department is making all possible efforts to increase and enhance their welfare measures. He said that the financial help can’t heal the wounds and pain the martyr's families are going through but the department is committed to look after the families.

Earlier Speaking to the media persons the DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police organized ten days skiing training course for group of students of north Kashmir and the training was provided by well trained team of J&K Police. He said Gulmarg is world’s famous and well known destination for ice sports activities and is a rare location to learn these sports.  He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been on the forefront to provide a platform to our talented youth in different sports. He said J&K police is organizing different sports actives under its Civic Action Programme across J&K and added that a mega cricket tournament is going on in Kathua and a T-20 cricket tournament in Kishtwar.  He said that student from different parts of J&K are being sent for Bharat Darshan tour with an aim to provide them an opportunity to know the beauty of this diverse and vast country. He advised the youth to stay away from the drugs saying that it brings destruction to the family and society. He also said that many misguided youth have been returned to their families.

 On the occasion a colourful cultural programme was presented by the Police Public School Baramulla, which was appreciated by the senior officers and the viewers.

IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar and DIG NKR Shri Mohd Suleman Choudhary also spoke on the occasion and thanked the DGP & PHQ for their help, assistance and guidance in organising the skiing course. Certificates and mementoes were distributed among the winners of the different skiing competition of the training course.
