Srinagar:Three Army jawans have gone missing after avalanche hit a post along the Line of Control in South Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Initial reports suggest the avalanche had hit Mani Post in Bagtor Gurez sector. Search operation has been launched. Further details awaited. It was reported that a 28-year-old Army porter was feared dead in the incident. The porter was identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan. The avalanche was triggered by fresh snowfall and rains in Tulail. The jawan was returning from a forward post in Gurez sector. Three soldiers had died in April in Batalik sector when the avalanche hit their post. While two soldiers succumbed to their injuries, the body of the third soldier was recovered later.
