Highway town Banihal shuts against killing of Hizb Commander Mannan Wani

Srinagar:
A complete shutdown is being observed in highway town of Banihal in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir to pay homage to slain Hizb commander Mannan Wani.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed in Banihal town, and Gundadalkoot, Charil, Tethar and Nowgam markets located on Jammu-Srinagar highway.

The call for shutdown was issued by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.

In a statement yesterday, JRL appealed for a shutdown to pay homage to Wani and his associate Ashiq Ahmad killed in a gunfight yesterday.
