Governor greets people on “Earth Day”

Jammu:
Governor N.N. Vohra conveyed his greetings on the occasion of Earth Day, an annual event celebrated all across the world on 22nd   of April to increase the awareness about environment safety as well as demonstrate the environmental protection measures.

On this occasion Governor urged people from all walks of life to come together for solving serious environmental issues and promoting natural balance and encouraging the people to respect the natural resources of the planet.  He observed that it is extremely important to take care of the environmental issues to stay healthy and alive and for a better future.

 Governor urged people to individually and collectively take steps such as tree plantation, inhibiting deforestation, limiting the use of vehicles to reduce air pollution and enhancing the energy conservation through reducing the wasteful use of electricity. He also appealed to people to refrain from using plastic bags.
