First Sikh officer of Pakistan army gets married

Rawalpindi:Major Harcharn Singh, first Sikh officer of Pakistan Army, got married today at Gurdwara Punja Sahib, Hasan Abdal, which is associated with the First Sikh master of the Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A number of serving and retired officers of Pakistan Army attended the marriage ceremony. According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, Army chief Qamar Bajwa also wishes the officer for his married life. Major Harcharan Singh was born in 1986 at Nanakana Sahib, where the first guru Guru Nanak Dev Ji of Sikhism was born, officer Harcharan was part of Military Academy’s 116th Long Course and joined the army of Pakistan in 2007.
