DSEK appoints 1011 Contractual Lecturers in Kashmir Valley

School Education Department on Saturday posted 1011 temporary contractual lecturers on the Academic arrangement in the far-flung and other Higher Secondary Schools of the Kashmir Division. The department has also enhanced the monthly honorarium of the contractual lecturers from Rs 7000 to Rs 14000 for those serving in 3rd and hard zone areas and Rs 10500 for those serving in plain areas.

Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo has issued an order to which the vacant posts of the lecturers in Higher Secondary Schools in plains and hilly areas of all the Districts including Kupwara, Baramulla and Anantnag have been filled by these contractual lecturers on academic arrangement which will cater the shortage of teaching staff in these schools, an official of the department told news agency GNS.

The merit list of the candidates will be available on the website of Directorate i.e. www.dsek.nic.in from this evening. In this connection Directorate of School Education Kashmir had received more than 5000 applications for these posts and the selection process was carried out through a written test in a transparent manner, the official said.

It is pertinent to mention here that as per the instructions from Minister for Education and Finance Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari, the monthly honorarium of these contractual lecturers has been enhanced from Rs 7000 to Rs 14000 for the contractual lecturers serving in 3rd and hard zone areas and Rs 10500 for those serving in plain areas, the official said.

Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah issued an order vide no. 450-Edu of 2018, dated: 27-03-2018 in this regard and the references of Finance Department and Directorate of School Education Kashmir are mentioned in the order, the official said.

After the issuance of the order, many sections have appreciated the positive steps being taken by Minister for Education and Finance, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari, Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah and Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo. Different sections related to Department of Education have said that the increase in honorarium of the contractual lecturers and the removal of the disparity between the honorarium in hilly and plain areas will improve the teaching-learning process in the schools. Many others and the concerned candidates have also welcomed the positive step taken by the higher-ups of the Department, the official said.
