I would like to dedicate this victory to my children and all my fans back in India and the world and hope that I could continue winning more laurels for the country."

The five-time world champion and Olympic bronze-medalist gave a special thanks to Boxing Federation of India (BFI) president Ajay Singh for his support.

She said, "I would like to thank the coaches, the entire support staff and everyone who believed in me. A special thanks to BFI president Ajay Singh and it is his relentless support that I have been able to achieve this."

The boxer also said that winning nine medals in Commonwealth will be a strong building block in realising BFI President's vision of making India a boxing superpower a reality.

"I would also like to congratulate the Male Boxers for their incredible performance and am sure winning 9 medals in Commonwealth will be a strong building block in realizing BFI President's vision of making India a boxing superpower a reality," she added.

On her debut at the Commonwealth Games, Kom bagged India's 18th gold medal at the Gold Coast here on Saturday.
