Coaching classes for Ladakhi/Balti students at JU

Jammu:

In continuation to its efforts for encouraging the students from remote and far flung areas to excel in competitive examinations, the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu has started coaching classes for Ladakhi and Balti Scheduled Tribe communities to address to their specific needs in higher education.

The coaching programme is aimed at strengthening the students of minority community to qualify for the various competitive examinations both at the national as well as at the state level. Further, this programme is aimed at orienting these students for particular examination conducted for selection to services such as KAS, State Public Services, Bank recruitment etc in order to ensure career & job placement.

The University of Jammu in general and the Department of Lifelong Learning in particular has taken a lead in providing free of cost coaching to the students of minority communities under the guidance of Dr Kavita Suri, Director, Department of Learning.

While interacting with these students hailing from various regions of Ladakh including Turtuk, Dr Suri stressed upon the importance of coaching programmes and shared her vast experience with the students.

Dr Suri said that under the UGC scheme of Coaching, the Department is fostering the interests and needs of the minority groups and thus in order to enable students belonging to SC / ST / OBC (non- creamy layer) / Minority communities, remedial coaching and other such coaching programmes are being organised.

Coordinator for the Coaching programme shared the roadmap to success and gave them tips to crack various competitive 

examinations.
