Jammu:
Claiming  to have identified seven private schools, which  had allegedly leaked Class 11th question papers (T1 and T1, annual session 2018, Summer Zone), the J&K Board of School Education is going to approach the Crime Branch of J&K Police for getting an FIR registered against the erring institutions.
Besides, the BOSE has also finalized fresh date sheet for the remaining exams of Class 11th, which were postponed in wake of the papers leakage and now the same shall be conducted from April 26.
According to the official sources, the erring schools  were identified from the packets of postponed question papers, which they deposited to the BOSE office as per the directions issued to heads of all the institutions.
During scrutiny of the received packets of question papers, it was found that some packets were opened by the erring private schools. Packets received from three private schools were found open while  two other schools, whose packets were not sealed,    claimed that they were unaware of postponement of the exam and had opened the packets for conducting  the exam.
Two other schools did not return the question papers and claimed that they did not receive the same from BOSE. However, they failed to give a satisfactory reply on being asked why they didn’t report the matter of not receiving the question paper before postponement of the exams, sources informed.
A joint team comprising of  senior functionaries of BOSE as well as Directorate of School Education was constituted  for scrutinizing the sealed packets of questions papers received back from concerned heads of  the institutions.
According to Chairperson of BOSE, Prof Veena Pandita, besides getting an FIR registered in this regard,  process is being initiated for de-recognition  of these  erring schools, which are also being barred from conducting exams in their premises.
Further, she said, it has also been decided that the confidential material, sealed question papers of the exams, which are being held from April 26, shall now be deposited in the concerned Police Station/ Police Post nearest to the institutions, instead of   handing over the same to the heads of the institutions.  The step is being taken to ensure safety and maintain sanctity of examinations and avert further chances of any untoward incident in future, she added.
It may be recalled that following reports of paper leakage on April 4,  BOSE  had ordered postponement of  all the remaining  examinations  of ongoing Higher Secondary Part I – Class 11th (T1 and T2) Summer Zone- Jammu Division, which were  scheduled to be conducted on April 5 and onwards.
Following the development,  all the Heads of the Institutions (Government as well as Private) were  instructed to  deposit the sealed packets of all the question papers in the respective Sub / Branch and Divisional offices of JK BOSE on 5th of April, 2018 positively.
Earlier, on April 3, e BOSE had  postponed the Class 11th examinations, which were scheduled to held on April 4 following the report of  leakage of question papers.
