BDC Polls : DDC Rajouri holds meeting with nodal officers, political parties

In order to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the elections to the chairman of Block Development Councils, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, who is also the District Election Officer, Mohammad Aijaz Asad convened a meeting with the nodal officers and representatives of political parties here in his office chamber.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, District Treasury Officer, Imran Mehmood, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Ashraf, Deputy District Election Officer Rizwan Asger, Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri Division Mohammad Zubair, Additional District Informatics officer NIC, Ashwani Sharma, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Inzar Rana and other concerned officers and representatives of different political parties.

During the meeting the DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers regarding the location of collection and dispatch centre,transport plan, randomization and training and ballot paper printing room.

The Deputy District Election Officer informed that collection and dispatch centre for the election material has been set up at ITI Rajouri.

He said that training and randomization of the concerned officers shall be conducted in three phases.

The first phase shall start on 12th of october, second and third on 15th and 19th october respectively.

Regarding transport plan, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer apprised the DDC that transport plan is ready and 22 number of vechiles are required for the smooth movement of the polling parties during the dispatch and collection of the election material.

About ballot paper printing, the concerned officer informed that all arrangements for the printing of the ballot papers have been finalised.

While speaking during the meeting, the DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to put in place extra efforts to ensure that the elections are conducted in a smooth,fair and hassle free manner.

He asked them to maintain coordination while performing various election related activities so that no inconvenience occurs during and on the day of elections.

He directed the concerned officer from transport department paste special sinages on the buses deployed during the election process.

He added that these elections will ensure supervision and monitoring of various developmental schemes,administrative and technical guidance of panchayats and periodic reviews of their work.

It is pertinent to mention here that for transparent and free and fair BDC Elections,a number of flying squads have been deployed and special election observers have also been deployed by the election authorities.
