Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh on Wednesday announced that he had resigned from the party, citing personal reasons.

In a tweet, Mr. Ashutosh said: "Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary also has an end. I have resigned from the PARTY/requested PAC to accept the same. It is purely from a very very personal reason. Thanks to party/all of them who supported me throughout. Thanks. (sic)"

The journalist-turned-politician had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chandni Chowk constituency. He was among those in the running for the three Rajya Sabha seats, for which the AAP eventually nominated Sanjay Singh, N.D. Gupta and Sushil Gupta.
