Two-Day Business Fest ‘YOUTHARVA-2018’ started with lots of dynamism and enthusiasm at The Business School, University of Jammu unfolding series of activities wherein a total number of nine participating business management institutes from within and outside the state competed in a highly stimulating and intellectually challenging competitive environment

Dr. Ashok Bhan, Chief Guest at the occasion congratulated the entire team of The Business School on conceptualizing the idea of holding a business fest with the theme ‘create, innovate and outshine’, which according to him should be the true spirit with which the young and dynamic future managers must accept the challenges of the corporate. Dr. Bhan quoted several examples, both from sports and corporate, to bring home the idea of ethics at the work place, which according to him should be the cornerstone of every business enterprise.

Professor Neetu Andotra, Dean Faculty of Business Studies, University of Jammu and the Guest of Honor on the occasion, listed that business fests organized by several higher education institutes including IIMs and IITs provide a platform to the budding future managers to showcase their talent. She spoke about the power of Youth, Youtharva, and the need for the younger generation to try their best at what they do and introspect where they can do better. She also emphasized on the bull and bearing capacity of the individual.

Professor Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar of the University congratulated the organizers for successfully organizing such events and said that student participation in competitive events of this nature is paramount to the wholesome development of the students. She emphasized upon the need for creating a conducive climate where each and every student needs to have a long term vision and participation for not only developing their potential but also building wholesome personalities.

 Ms Anju Jamwal, Head Marcom Airtel, was the Guest of Honour in the inaugural function. While addressing the students of The Business School and the participating teams, she said that the management students should take initiative and utilize such opportunities to showcase their talent and creativity in front of the corporate experts

Earlier, Prof. Alka Sharma, Director, The Business School welcomed the guests and dwelled upon the need to shift focus of the academic institutions from being teaching centric to ‘learning centric’, so as to create learning environments within the class room situations. She laid emphasis on the need for students to improve their domain knowledge to be able to excel in their endeavors. She also stressed on that this is the event by the students for the students and of the students.

During the function, the dignitaries unveiled the ‘Youtharva 2018 Champion Trophy’ while Prof Vinay Chauhan, Coordinator Fest, presented a formal vote of thanks. The proceedings of the function were conducted by MBA students from the fourth semester. Later in the day, competitive events including Inquizitive, Aghaaz, Click and Capture, Bull or Bear,Office office, were followed by Cultural Fest.
